The world has diverse opinions on what defines a Christian. Some define them as those who follow Bible rules, while others believe baptism is the sole criterion. Others portray Christians as hateful bigots who spread division. All of these definitions fall vastly short of the truth.
A Christian is so much more than any of those definitions.
A Christian is someone who has encountered God by hearing the good new of Jesus Christ, recognized they are a sinner, and responded by asking God to forgive them for the bad things they have done while placing their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Someone who has chosen to become a Christian:
Making the decision to follow Jesus and experience life with him will be the single greatest decision you make in your entire life.
The God of the universe was so fond of his creation that he sent his own son to live among humans, endure hardships, and sacrifice himself to atone for the sins of humanity, so that his creation could have a genuine connection with him.
God’s perfect design for man was to reflect him in goodness & partner with him in ruling over creation, but man chose to reject God by succumbing to temptation and disobeying.
Now, instinctively, people make choices based on their desires, even if they dishonor God and harm others ruled by sin’s effect on their hearts.
Jesus, God in human flesh, lived a perfect, sinless life. (Hebrews 4:15). Being without sin, he perfectly reflects God’s character and is the only being who has ever been able to live according the God’s standard.
No one can meet God’s perfect goodness, so Jesus came to take our place.
Though sinless and perfect, Jesus chose to be punished to pay for humanity’s sins. He became sin to fulfill God’s righteous requirement (2 Corinthians 5:21). Through his death, everyone can now have a relationship with God.
The greatest part of the story is the end! After Jesus willingly died on the cross suffering a brutal death, He rose from his tomb three days later. The stone sealing his tomb was removed, and his body vanished.
By conquering sin and death, Jesus restored the relationship between God and man, empowering believers to overcome their own sin and live a life devoted to God.

All of Us Have Messed Up & Sinned.
10 as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; 11 “no one understands; no one seeks for God. (Romans 3:10-11)
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23)
God Has Paid for Our Sins.

21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
You Have a Chance to Respond.
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

Receiving Jesus as Your Savior.
12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.(John 1:12-13)
Am I willing to admit I have messed up and chosen to do many wrong things in my life making me a sinner?
Would I like to be forgiven for those things and live my life differently?
Do I believe Jesus is the one who has paid for my wrong doing and made a way for me to begin having a relationship with God?
If you have answered those questions with a “yes” God simply wants you to communicate those things directly to him.
Prayer doesn’t have to be intimidating. God wants us to talk to him, and prayer is the way he made it possible. Start by thinking about God and talking to him like you’d talk to someone you deeply love.
You can begin speaking with him by praying the following:
God,
I recognize I have done wrong in my life hurting others and you making me a sinner. Please forgive me for the wrong I have done. I accept the sacrifice of Jesus as the payment for my sin and desire for him to be the ruler and savior of my life. Today, I am deciding to follow you and ask for your power to help me live a life dedicated to you. Thank you for Jesus and saving my life for eternity.
Amen
Congratulations! If you’ve shared your need for forgiveness with God and placed your trust in Jesus as the payment for your sins and leader of your life, you’re now a Christian!
